Red Stripe Restaurant, located at 455 Main Street in East Greenwich, is pleased to announce that Michael Merluzzo has been named general manager. In his new role, Michael will assume the day-to-day operations of the bustling Main Street eatery and work alongside the culinary team and front-of-house staff to provide an exceptional guest experience. 

“We are happy to welcome Mike to Red Stripe East Greenwich,” said Jim Brosseau, Director of Restaurant Operations, Encore Hospitality Group. “His experience and passion for the hospitality industry is a great complement to our team and we are looking forward to his leadership.”

Michael brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience to his new role, a career that began as a student at Billerica High School when he was hired as a host at the American Food Systems group of restaurants in Burlington, MA.  He rose through the ranks to server, bartender, and finally general manager, a position he held through college.

After graduating, Michael moved to Providence, where he worked at Mill’s Tavern before being recruited by its sister property, Red Stripe in Providence, to serve as a manager.  He was promoted to assistant manager, serving in that capacity for two years before his new role in East Greenwich.  

A native of Billerica, MA, Michael is a graduate of UMass Lowell and currently resides in Providence.
